Submit to Woven Webs Issue Two: Bite the Hand

Submission Guidelines:

  • Submissions are due on the first of April (1/4/2026).

  • The title for Issue Two is “Bite the Hand”, inspired by the phrase “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you”. Submissions that are in conversation with this theme are more likely to be accepted. Your submission might consider loyalty, rebellion, status, power and/or use motifs such as dogs, wolves, hands, teeth or food.

  • All genres are accepted. Woven Webs is particularly seeking speculative (science fiction, fantasy, etc), mixed genre and experimental works. Creators are encouraged to submit pieces that may struggle to be published elsewhere and that experiment with form.

  • There is no strict word limit but short stories are encouraged to be under 3000 words. Shorter works are more likely to be accepted so more works can be included in each issue.

  • There is no strict line limit but poems are encouraged to be under 50 lines. Shorter works are more likely to be accepted so more works can be included in each issue.

  • Visual art files must be high quality. Photography/scans of physical pieces such as pottery, collage or textile art must be clear and ideally have a neutral background.

  • As Woven Webs is a digital magazine, video, audio and other multimedia submissions may be considered. Please include in your Creator Bio how any multimedia submissions might be presented in a PDF file.

  • There is no limit to the amount of submissions one individual can make.

  • Written works must be submitted in 12 point Times New Roman font with double spacing (excluding stylistic choices by the creator).

  • If for any reason supplementary information/files are necessary to a submission, these can be sent to wovenwebsmag@gmail.com

  • Selected creators will be notified via email and will receive a $100 creator fee.

  • Selected creators agree to having their piece featured in Woven Webs Issue Two: Bite the Hand, which may also be used in promotional material for the issue and the publication online, but retain all rights to their work. By submitting you confirm that you have complete creative ownership of your piece (and therefor that so-called AI was not used in its creation).
